The PGA Tour's biggest party is coming back to Scottsdale. The 2027 WM Phoenix Open will be played from February 8 to 14, 2027, on the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale, according to the tournament's official website. Construction of the tournament's grandstands and hospitality structures is already under way.

What Has Been Announced

  • Dates: February 8–14, 2027, at TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course, the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish design that has hosted the tournament since 1987.
  • Leadership: Chris Camacho is the tournament chairman for 2027, with John Damiris as assistant chairman.
  • Charity: the 2026 edition raised a record $20.1 million for local charities, bringing the tournament's all-time total to more than $246 million.
  • Music: Jason Aldean will headline the Thursday night of the 2027 Coors Light Birds Nest concert series.

The tournament's famous par-3 16th hole is once again expected to be surrounded by grandstands, making it the only fully enclosed hole on the PGA Tour.

What February Weather Usually Looks Like

February is one of the most pleasant months for golf in Scottsdale, but it is not always dry. The National Weather Service's 1991–2020 normals for Scottsdale Airport show:

  • an average high of about 69°F and an average low of about 46°F;
  • about 1.24 inches of rain in the month, the highest monthly normal of the year at the station, as winter storms reach the desert.

Cool, clear mornings can bring frost, and with it delayed starts, while a passing winter storm can bring rain and wind. The air also makes a difference: our carry model estimates that a 7-iron that carries 150 yards at sea level on a 70°F day would carry about 153 yards on a typical February afternoon at TPC Scottsdale, but only about 150 yards on a cold February morning.

What It Means for Golfers

Tournament week is one of the busiest weeks of the year for golf across the Valley:

  • The Stadium Course is closed to public play for a period around the tournament while it is prepared. Check with TPC Scottsdale for the exact dates.
  • Tee times across Scottsdale fill up quickly in early February, with hotels and rental cars in high demand. If you are planning a golf trip around the tournament, book well ahead.
  • Prices are at their seasonal peak, so if you are flexible, the weeks either side can be better value.

For the best times to play the city's courses, see our guide to golf in Scottsdale, and check the hour-by-hour forecast for any course on our Scottsdale golf courses page. We will publish the forecast for TPC Scottsdale as tournament week approaches on its course page.
